L'Oréal

Le Visionnaire Heritage and Innovation Center

Almost a century after opening its first headquarters in Paris, L'Oréal has transformed its historic birthplace into a collaboration space for its global workforce. We developed a visitor experience that enhanced L'Oréal's internal creative capabilities, giving each employee unprecedented access to the company's history, contemporary trends, and customer insights.

The experience bridges physical and digital interaction through the heritage gallery, a cabinet of curiosities with illuminated drawers for engaging with heritage products, and the Visionary Wall, a massive AI-driven canvas that can sort millions of images not just by keyword, but by visual composition—grouping them by color, shape, and pattern. This allows designers to build instant mood boards that can be saved to their employee badge and exported directly to their desk.

The challenge was less about the technology and more about comfort and pace: how content is organized and browsed, how people stand and move in front of it, what motion feels right at that scale, and what someone actually walks away with. I shaped the full experience, from layout and browsing logic to the physical placement and the takeaway.

The modular brand space was the most complex: a strip of eight screens behind a mirrored wall, two of them touch-activated, alongside lighting, sound, product display, and projection across a vaulted ceiling. We composed a choreography across all of it — different modes and tailored sequences for each brand and product type.
