Paint experience at Fontevraud Abbey

Drawing on the walls of an ancient Abbey
In tribute to the polychromes formerly painted on the inside walls of Fontevraud Abbey in the Loire Valley, France, visitors are invited to bring a touch of color back in the nave. Drawing on a touch interface, they can see their creations projected in real time onto the walls, revealing architectural elements with projection mapping.
At the end of the experience, visitors can stand next to their polychrome, get their photo taken and print it on their way out.
The drawing experience by itself had to be pleasing. I focused on the smoothness and simplicity of the drawing app, until every stroke perfectly expressed the original gesture. But what made this experience unforgettable is to look up and see the drawing framed by this incredible architecture in a colorful harmony.
